So I've been exhausted of all my resources and know-how with this problem over the past few days. As an online poker player, I need a HUD (third-party app) to overall improve my game massively. The particular apps that I'm looking at are 'Poker Copilot' and 'PokerTracker 4'. They are expensive for someone in my situation, therefore I've been looking for a crack.Since I run Mac OSX, the few cracks that are available for PokerTracker 4, I cannot use due to OS restrictions.Poker Copilot is a native Mac app, but there are no available cracks. I have tried using 'AppCleaner' to reset the trial, to no avail.
I have also been working on using the 'fseventr' app to see which files Poker Copilot is accessing to check if the trial has expired, but also to no avail. So I'm in a sticky situation. If this is the wrong place to post this sort of issue, I'd appreciate a point in the right direction. Any help/ideas are appreciated.
Unfortunately it's not quite as simple as that. It's for Texas Hold'em poker. It interprets history of play (or 'hand history' officially) files that are produced by the actual game app, and gives you player information about what type of player they are based on their previous plays, helping you to predict their moves etc. It essentially can give you a really good read on them, helping you determine your next move. While yes, it would be possible for a decent programmer who had the time to work it all out, I am not, unfortunately, in that position.
Well, if you don't want to write a program to mimic the software, again my recommendation, then you will need to reverse engineer the trial mechanism.Start off with some simple things. Install the trial, then change your system's BIOS date/time to some time in the distant future (a couple years should do.) Does the trial software still work, or did it 'expire?' Now try moving your BIOS date/time to a time before you installed the trial. Does it work now?The results of those simple tests will give us an idea of some simple workarounds for the software. 'AppCleaner to reset the trialwell, now you know it doesn't use a timedate stamp to calc trial time.If you're trying to do it yourself.not going to happen.
No offense, but just from reading your post I can tell you don't have the background neccessary. Seriously, no offense, just being honest.Since that seems unlikely that you were asking for 'a point in the right direction', you're probably in a round about way trying to ask someone to do it for you.OSX, will be challanging. I'm a novice software cracker, but I know a few things.
One of the things Edwin knows is, software generally relies heavily on an OSs API. For instance, Windows software usually relies heavily on external calls (also called imports) from the Windows API like GetProcAddress (to locate the memory space of fuctions form imported DLLs), CreateFileA/W, ReadFileA/W and registry calls to store 'trial' information. And we're just talking about resetting the 'trial timer' here, not even cracking to the full version. But OSX, shit. You're gonna need someone that is specifically experienced in software cracking for that OS.
MAYBE a BSD cracker could help, but since OSX is heavily modified and closed source kernel based on BSD, even then they may not be able to.Good luck to you. Never a waste of time. You've learned something from the experience.I'm just pointing out that a lot of the time, users ask for something that is far more complicate than the realize. And if we personally lack the experience to accomplish said task, its seen as a failure on our part. It's like asking someone to either build you and airplane, or teach you to build one. How hard could it be?

We see planes all the time. Gotta be easy, right?Heh, aerospace engineering is not a simple subject. The funny thing about this subreddit is that most of these questions by their very nature are going to be unanswerable just do to the intricacies of the subject. Ever play a racing game? When you start out, youre over-steering, over-accerating and under-breaking becuase you have an expectation that it's supposed to look a certain way; fast?
With enough practice you realize its more about finesse than brawn.Honestly, I REALLY which you were using Windows.I'd LOVE to take a crack (pun intended) at this piece of software. Hell, I might be able to do a static disassembly of it for you.
Maybe be able to figure out approx. What it's doing. I can't promise you anything though. And I can't promise it would be quick. I do have other responsibilities. A static disassembly is just the OP codes without it running in a debugger.Since it's 'static', you can't watch the values in the registers, on the stack and in the heap change, but it's safe because you can statically disassemble malware without infecting yourself (since the binary is never actually run). There are other benefits too though. When you run a binary in a debugger, you can step through it line by line, or set break points and it will break so you can review what the code is actually doing. For static disassembly, I use IDA Pro.
And mostly for practice, because in my opinion it's WAY harder since you can't monitor it every step of the way. When it comes to my prefered debugger though, I use OllyDBG, or WinDBG in VS for debugging my own apps.
